Can anyone help me with these coded lines written by Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield? I am a retired headmaster researching the 2nd Earl, his home, Bretby Hall and the famous gardens. I have tried repeatedly to decipher all but failed miserably to date? Philip sometimes wrote in French and also very occasionally in Latin. I can provide greater detail if requested.
